Le créole haïtien (en créole : kreyòl ayisyen ou ayisyen) est un créole à base lexicale française parlée par environ 11 millions de personnes en Haïti et approximativement 2 millions dans le reste du monde, principalement au Canada et aux États-Unis. Depuis 1987, le créole haïtien est reconnu officiellement en Haïti. Bien que son vocabulaire soit principalement emprunté au vieux français du xviiie siècle, il a également subi l’influence des langues portugaise, espagnole, anglaise, taïno et surtout ouest-africaine.
Chaque année, depuis 1983, le 28 octobre est une occasion de célébrer la langue et la culture créoles à travers les pays et communautés ayant le Créole en partage.
